高3選択英作文の授業で書いてもらった「卒業文集」の紹介の第二弾です。今回の主なテーマは「友情」です。

I can say that I have spent most of time practicing or playing with the teammates of Toho basketball club. Those memories are my best memories. I think not only my love for basketball but also my teammates enable me to feel them as good memories. Practice was always tough for me, but everyone did his best so I could do my best. Friends have always encouraged me to stand up and do it. Now that we have retired from the club activity, these friends do that in studying for entrance examinations. That is why I feel I can do it. So I want to cherish the friendship. (T. Y.)

My funniest memory in Toho is playing volleyball on our terrace called “Toho-no-Oka”. We always went to the terrace after lunch and played with friends. It was warm and comfortable on the terrace in the daytime, so we liked the place very much. The most interesting thing was the penalties in volleyball game. If someone dropped the ball, he had to take his jacket off except his underwear and ran in front of teachers’ room (which is next to the terrace). I once dropped the volleyball, and received a penalty. Unfortunately at that time, Mr. Koide (one of our homeroom teachers) saw me running only with my underwear on, and said, “Shall I call the police?” Watching someone doing it was very entertaining, but I felt embarrassed about my doing it. This was my daily life. (K. M.)

I have learned that working is exciting in Toho. In Toho, we were often required to work without help from teachers. For example, I opened a crepe stores for Toho Festival. We open it every year with our club members, and two years ago, I was in charge of it. At first, I didn’t want to do it, but as soon as I began to work, I recognized it was an exciting work. Considering what makes our customers happy was interesting, my club’s seniors and juniors helped me, so I was able to complete my work. During Toho Festival, I felt happy when the customers thanked me, and I came to want to do such a work in the future, too.
In Toho, I learned a lot of things, and all of that are my treasures. I’ll never forget them. (S. Y.)
